School time

Over the past 2 months Sol-B has been going to 2 classes at the community centre. One is Kindergym with Mah Mah and the other is Painting with Por Por and Gung Gung.

Paying extra attention to the singing at the end of painting class.



The past 2 weeks Daddy went to Kindergym with Sol-B. Let's see how he is in class.

Haha Sol-B loves to run around with no pants on! According to Mah Mah, his dad exhibited the same behaviour too! Is this a boy thing or what?

Sometimes Sol-B is very buddy buddy with Mah Mah. Last night for some reason he was extra attached to her as he wanted her to brush his teeth, change his diaper, and cut his nails!

Sol-B can really carry on a conversation now! It's really cute!



Singing in the car again! He's was babbling at first and then singing "Are you sleeping? Are you sleeping? Sol-b chu Sol-B chu".



This is Sol-B's favourite bedtime game every night. I HAVE to be inside the covers with him. He is such a control freak!

Sol-B has grown up so much in the past few months. He will be 28 months in 2 days! Often he will talk non-stop and sing his little songs.

He can almost sing the whole  氹氹轉 菊花園 song now!

Sol-B at the CNE

We went to CNE on Labour Day since Por Por has free tickets from the union. It was Sol-B's first time on rides!

On the merry-go-around. He had so much fun he requested to ride on it twice!

As promised, here are some videos of Sol-B talking more complicated terms now. He's very close to speaking in sentences now! Sometimes it is just so cute and hilarious!

Also, he learns to use the 唔 word (no) now! Now he says 唔 something something whenever he doesn't want to do something! So annoying!

He says 肥髀 and tum tum 轉 菊花園! He can almost say the third line of the song now.

Summer fun

Sorry for not updating for so long! Sol-B's verbal skills have skyrocketed in the past weeks. He went from saying 2 separate words to saying phrases now! I'll upload some new videos as soon as Kelvin posts them.

In the meantime, here are some fun summer moments with Gung Gung and Por Por.

Sol-B the piano master

Sol-B loves to play the piano with me. He has really good music sense and rhythm. It's really like he's playing the piano with me. He even knows to rock up and down to the song rhythm! Towards the end of the video, I changed to playing "Wheels on the Bus". Sol-B immediately did the actions for the song.



Here he is "performing" his song actions in front of other people. They are Aunt Teri's piano students and Sol-B just met them for the first time!

Sol-B is such a clean freak (haha unlike his parents). There was a dark dot pattern on the new bed sheet and he doesn't like it!!! So we have to change the sheets again! Geeez.

Kai Yea, Yea Yea and running game

One of Sol-B's "Kai Yea", Jacky, came up to visit last month. Sol-B has a great time dancing with Kai Yea.



Sol-B plays running game with Daddy every day in the basement. He'll only play it with him though. Everyone in the family have their dedicated activity with Sol-B.




Sol-B calls out to Yea Yea. Playing with the fan with Yea Yea's supervision is Yea Yea's activity with Sol-B.

Something to show us

This is soooo hilarious.

On Sunday, Sol-B wanted all of us to be together b/c he has something to show us. He was really frustrated at first b/c we all tried to walk away as soon as he got us into the hallway.

After he finally got all of us together, he presented his new water table, and then proceeded to show us a few other things.

He can also say 2 words together now. His first 2 words is goh個 (that one). The second 2 word term is 街霸!

Dancing and more words

Sol-B watches a DVD program called 成語動畫廊 every night after dinner. It's actually a cartoon show from the 80s! Each episode is about 5 minutes or so and it's about a Chinese proverb 成語.

One of Sol-B's favourite is 繞樑三日. He dances as soon as he hears the music. Here's the episode if you want to see it.




Sol-B's vocabulary is expanding more and more. I think he can say 100 words now. But only single words though. So far he still cannot put 2 words together.

Saying 街街. It was a rainy day and obviously we cannot go 街街.




He can also say the word "error" and 零零. It's because he likes to play with a digital scale. He knows that the "Err" on the display is error and 0.00 is 零零!

2 year old!

Sol-B celebrated his 2-year old birthday yesterday! Both Daddy and Mommy took last Friday and Monday off, so Sol-B had 4 consecutive days with daddy and mommy! It was great weather and we spent time outdoors walking and at the park playing with slides and swings.

We had a little birthday gathering with family. His Kai-Yea Jacky also was in town to celebrate the great day with Sol-B.

Por Por did such a good job training Sol-B to teach him how to blow out the birthday candle (thanks to an Ipad app). Good job!

Sol-B has really good musical sense. He loves to sing together and knows the actions to all his favourite songs. The teacher at the early years centre even praises him for being such a good participant!

Sol-B's routine after waking up from nap at Por Por's house is to sing songs with all the Snoopies. They are all his good buddies!

Fun times

Sol-B has a lot of fun nowadays with a variety of things. Here are just examples.

He loves to take things in and out of containers. In this case, he's only taking the clothes OUT of the laundry basket.

This is Sol-B's new favourite word. Waaaah. For dramatic effect.

Sol-B the great cook

Sol-B loves to watch Yea Yea cooking. As a result, he also loves playing cooking himself. Not only that, he also LOVES to play with the real pots and pans. Don't know why but he can just play with lifting the big metal wok cover on and off for half an hour!

Here are 2 videos of his cooking skills at Por Por's house. The most hilarious part is that he adds seasoning when he cooks! He must have seen us do that at home with soya sauce or oyster sauce! Can't believe he is sooooooo observant!

Spiky Tiger

We bought a pair of Tiger mittens a couple of weeks ago. They were not for him to wear! It's still too big, as it fits my small hand quite nicely! It's a little spiky as it's made of wool. Sol-B tried to kiss it the first couple of times and found that it was spiky. I told him to touch it only. What a cutie boy!



Now he plays with everything! We usually let him play with it if it's not dangerous. So anything can now be a toy!

He's also learning to go down the stairs on his own!

22-months update

Sol-B is 22 months already! Almost 2 years old la! So fast. He now understands EVERYTHING that we say now. Uh oh! Also, he imitates so much of what we do! What a fun age!

Mah Mah is going back to HK for another 2 months. This time she will come back to Canada for good! Yea! Sol-B really loves playing with Mah Mah and yet he listens to her. Somehow it must be those motherly things.

Music and dancing

Sol-B has a quite good musical sense. He loves us singing songs with him. His favourite song lately is "Rolly Polly", a song he learned from Early Years Centre. He can even do the actions now. So proud of him! Here he is sitting in a circle with his stuffed animal friends (actually, they were my old stuffed aniamals) doing the song actions. Lately, he even "performed" his actions in front of some family friends and relatives!

21 months and growing up fast

Sol-B is growing up so fast. It's amazing how much he understands and knows now. Even though he can't fully talk yet (can only say single words), he understands EVERYTHING that we say. Have to be careful on what we say now! haha

Look at how his sweeping skills have improved in a month. Last month he still needs assistance. Now he can do it on his own now!



Reading bedtime story about the various fruits. Listen to how he imitates me immediately of "biting" the apple! So cute!


Here you can barely hear him calling "Yea Yea". But this is only b/c we were offering him Ritz mini cheese crackers! It's usually a no-no item, but unfortunately, he saw it in the cupboard with his super sharp eyes of his. Also, you know why he was sitting on the little red stool? It's b/c that was where he sat last time when he had "illegal" snack foods. Hahhaa! He remembers!

Sol-B calls Daddy

Sol-B can now call Dea Dea! So sweet! He loves his daddy now. Every night after dinner, he has to play with Daddy in the basement.

Chinese New Year update

Sol-B is soooo well behaved when he goes to Por Por's house! Sometimes even I can't believe it!



His favourite song is still Twinkle Twinkle Little Star.


Gung gung and Por Por recently bought a little tent for Sol-B in their basement. What a curious toddler now!















Playing with Mama first thing in the morning. Awww...I'm going to look back on this and really miss it when Sol-B grows older.


Poor Sol-B just got Roseola this past week and was feverish and then got all these red spots all over his face and body. Thankfully he is almost better. Really sucks cuz it's Chinese New Year and we couldn't go to 2 gatherings!

Sol-B loves Snoopy!

Hahaha...Kelvin and I have successfully brainwashed Sol-B to loving Snoopy! Since we are both huge Snoopy fans, we just naturally have a lot of Snoopy stuff at home! And guess what? Sol-B loves Snoopy! Yea! Well, he also loves his tiger stuffed toy too.

For my big bday this year, Kelvin bought me this huge Snoopy stuffed animal. I don't think Sol-B has ever seen a stuffed animal so big before! It's certainly bigger than him!





He still loves his little tiger the most! You can hear him saying 腳腳 and 毛毛!

More independent

Sol-B is becoming more and more independent everyday. Many things he doesn't want us to help him and insists on doing it himself.

Lately he also loves to play with pots. When he goes into the kitchen, he insists that every pot is covered with a lid, all the cabinet doors are closed, garbage can lid is closed. I wish he is this insistent with cleaning up his toys...

Calling Mah Mah

Every morning Mah Mah will call us. Since it's a different phone line, it has a special ring tone. Sol-B knows it's Mah Mah and will call out when the phone rings. But often he goes silent as soon as we pick up the phone! hahaha

Basement fun

Sol-B recently loves to play in the new play areas in Gung Gung and Por Por's basement! He always likes new play space!

Here he is patting everyone's head and pointing out people's feet! He just recently learned to say 腳腳(feet) and 襪襪 (socks). He always likes pointing out my body parts (nose, eyes, mouth, ears, etc.)




Displaying a discreet proud smile as he knows we are praising him!



He also knows how to sign "thank you" now. Whenever he wants something, I ask him to sign thank you and he now does it consistently! If it's something he REALLY wants, he even signs it on his own! haha

Doing chores

Sol-B loves to "help" us to do chores, cuz it's the adult thing to do!
